Las Vegas Marching Arts is a non-profit organization that focuses on the enrichment of the current music programs in Las Vegas and throughout the State with emphasis on brass, percussion, vocal and dance programs. We also offer music programs that enhance life long learning. Our goal is to bring society together by providing a safe, drug free environment for our young leaders of the future.

Through creative top level performance and music instructors we will provide all necessary funding and support for annual tours for competitions around the United States and Canada. We are currently in the process of building a solid foundation of support, through the formation of a booster group to help with fundraisers, auditions and to have fun. Our current goal is to field Nevada’s First ever DCI Style brass and percussion corps in summer of 2012.

Studies have strongly suggested the link between a young person’s music education and both their verbal and mathematical skills. This education ultimately provides our students with marketable skill-sets in the fields of communications, finance, music, teaching, public service, skilled trades, programming, analyzing and all aspects of management/leadership. Living on the road with peers, our students learn invaluable skills related to conflict resolution and teamwork.

It takes the commitment of an entire community to assure that music is part of the core curriculum. Children engaged in music will be the innovation leaders of tomorrow, and there is no better way to build life-long participation in music than with a solid base of music education.

Programs and services of Las Vegas Marching Arts, Inc. are designed for motivated individuals who desire the most from their efforts in the performing arts. The choice to make a career of their art or merely to participate for a short time is of little importance. A strong character and work ethic are the only requirements of a member. Las Vegas Marching Arts is committed to creating a positive learning and performing experience for all participants, and to provide members with the knowledge and inspiration to take their art to the next level.

Participating in ‘Las Vegas Boulevard’ Brass and Percussion Corps is a test of character and a challenge of an individual’s potential. Members experience a life-changing realization that sacrifice, tenacity and teamwork lead to success, fulfillment and ultimately a unique mountaintop experience, shared by those united by a common vision. The corps is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promote the existence and welfare of drum & bugle corps through social events, music, marching and competitive performances. ‘Las Vegas Blvd.’ is an extra curricular activity, which offers participation to BOTH boys & girls. Unlike sports teams, the entertainment factor makes this program unique. Usually its purpose is similar to that of a sports team: to develop TEAMWORK, to learn SPORTSMANSHIP, to ENTERTAIN. These performance athletes become 'good will ambassadors' and bring a solid representation of the city of Las Vegas and the state of Nevada to the world.

During their participation in Las Vegas Blvd Brass and Percussion Corps, young musicians are provided high-quality instruments to enhance their educational experience. Access to quality instruments and instruction helps students enhance their self-image. The highly structured rehearsals instill good habits of discipline. Without invading school hours, students commit to rehearse an average of 300 hours throughout the year in addition to summer touring and competition. The combination of increased discipline and the value of school attendance lead directly to higher grades and a higher sense of purpose.

We serve all of Greater Las Vegas, providing an opportunity that these young people would not experience otherwise. Las Vegas Marching Arts serves over 500 music, color guard and dance students in the Brass & Percussion Ensemble, VocalMotion choral troupe and various smaller competitive percussion and Color Guard programs such as ‘24/7’ which will compete for the first season in 2010 with 16 competing members. Las Vegas Blvd Brass and Percussion Corps program will serve up to 150 students each year. VocalMotion 50-70 kids and other programs will vary in size but primarily range from 20-40 each

Since our inception, Las Vegas Marching Arts has provided an outstanding barometer of success for the organization and the members of the organization. With the city’s (or county’s) support, we will strive to bring national attention to our program in Las Vegas, and we will be one of the best new performing arts organizations in the country.
